How to Take Your Favorite Summer Pieces Straight Through to Fall

Hi friends,

Hope you’re all enjoying the weekend!

We’re kind of in that weird between-seasons time where stores are putting all of their Fall clothes on display, but it’s still too hot to stray from Summer-wear.

I’ve been asking around on Instagram, and it seems like most of you guys are taking this time to peruse both Summer and Fall pieces; I’m right there with you, starting to stock up for Fall but still taking advantage of the warm-weather clothes that are now getting marked down.

I’m expecting that, like with most other years, the change to cooler weather will be a bit delayed getting here, but once it comes it won’t be gradual.

In New Jersey especially, it seems like sometimes the seasons change overnight; but don’t worry, you’ll still be able to wear that cute new tank you just bought, or even extend the time you have to wear those great denim shorts.

The trick to getting more wear out of your Summer clothes: use layering to make them Fall- and even Winter-appropriate!

Below are a few of my favorite Summer looks and ways that I plan on continuing to wear them straight through Fall.

This white bodysuit is a recent Amazon find and goes perfectly with my beloved striped shorts from Shein, braided sandals, and a pair of sunglasses. It also works perfectly for Fall when I add a cute plaid, fringe cardigan, jeans, and some booties.

The majority of this cute tee and shorts outfit can be updated for cooler weather. Get some more wear out of the shorts by throwing on a cozy sweater and some cute patterned sneakers. The ever-popular Nordstrom Sale tee and Tory Burch bag go great with a leather jacket and patterned sneaks, as well.

I personally love to wear camis all year long; they’re so versatile and can go with pretty much anything. Wear a basic black cami with shorts or jeans in the Summer and dress it up with cool accessories. Add on a flannel shirt, worn open or closed, to flawlessly Fall-ify the look.

Okay, this is my favorite Fall glow-up of the bunch! This Venus tee goes great with shorts and a some yellow sandals for a Summery pop of color, but it also looks amazing with leopard print pants, booties, and a stylish Fall hat (even though my husband has already promised to laugh at me whenever I wear this hat, lol).

As always, I’d love to hear about your own thoughts on layering and see how you use it to create some great Fall outfits.

Share some of your suggestions or favorite layering pieces below!

And don’t forget that links to all of my outfits (including the ones shown above) can now be found on my Shop My Looks page, found in the main menu of my blog!

I’ll be back with some big updates soon…until then, happy styling!

Maxi Dress | Bracelet

This beautiful maxi from Red Dress is lightweight and flowy; perfect for both a breezy beach ceremony and a sizzling rooftop reception. I love the way the colors blend together and the slip ends mid-thigh.

Maxi Dress | Clutch

This is another flowy dress that would fit right in on the sand. The clutch is really the star here for me; this new bag from express can be dressed up or down.

Dress

This is a more formal look and allows you to show off your legs and shoes. It has black and white lace detailing all around and a chic off-the-shoulder neckline.

Dress | Shoes

This hi-low dress is ready for a night of dancing. The skirt is fun and flowy and the neckline adds a sexy element. The floral pattern is versatile enough for almost any summer setting.

Maxi Dress

This dress is definitely my favorite of the bunch. As you probably know if you’ve read my other posts, I love lavender. The fit is flattering and the lace detailing is gorgeous. A simple updo is all you need for a dress this stunning.

Chic Outfits for the Spring and Summer

Hey everyone!

So…I took a little bit of a break after my 30 day blogging challenge, but I’m back and ready to share a lot of new content with you all!

It’s been raining nonstop here, but I know that means warmer weather is just around the corner, along with pretty, well-watered plants and flowers.

While I wait for the skies to clear up, I’ve been daydreaming quite a bit about outfits that are perfect for higher temperatures.

I’ve put together a few looks that I really like, featuring a lot of discounted pieces, as usual!

Check out the looks below and feel free to comment with your reactions/feedback.

Links to buy are included for everything, as well.

Dress | Sandals | Purse | Earrings

This black and white chevron dress is so easy to accessorize because its neutral colors go with pretty much anything. For Spring, I’d add a mint colored purse from Kate Spade and some pretty arm candy (pictured are the lotus, Stand Up to Cancer, and ‘What’s for you will not pass you’ bangles from Alex+Ani, plus a colorful bangle from a local boutique).

Dress | Heels

This dress is a little more formal; great for a graduation, shower, or any other event you may have coming up over the next few months. Also shown here are a large Kate Spade purse (not currently avail) and a matching necklace/earring set from NY&Co.

Shorts | Top | Sandals | Purse

I love some fun, bright colors in the warm weather! These adorable color blocked shorts are perfect with any white top, and I’ve just been dying to use this Valentino bag that I got at a huge discount from Saks, so here it is. 🙂

Dress | Sandals | Purse

Another pop of color comes from this pretty Boho Factory dress. Shown here with the same sandals and purse as the previous picture, and some added statement earrings (an old pair that I’ve had forever) to complete the look.

Dress | Belt | Bracelets | Shoes

It seems like every time the warm weather comes around I find myself with a new sunflower dress…not that I’m complaining! The dress and belt were both Amazon finds, the shoes I’ve raved about in multiple previous posts, and the bracelet set is from Boho Factory. The earrings, again, are a super old pair.

Easter Sunday Outfit Inspiration

Hi all,

Hope you’re all enjoying the weekend.

For those who celebrate Easter, I’ve got some great inspiration for your outfit tomorrow!

See below for a few different outfits I put together, with links to buy.

Top | Jeans | Heels

This top from Venus is one of my favorites lately. Between the ombre pink color, the sparkles, and a little criss-cross detail on the sleeves, it has so many little details that make it unique and pretty.

Top | Skirt | Heels

I love this yellow skirt for Spring, but it’s especially perfect for Easter. Since it’s so bright and stands out on its own, I’ve styled it with a simple but pretty white top and nude heels.

Dress | Shoes

For those who prefer to wear darker colors, this black dress from Guess is great for many different occasions. I’ve added a mint colored Kate Spade purse to brighten it up for Easter.

Denim Jacket | Shoes

Here’s another way to style the Guess dress shown above. I’ve changed up the purse for an even bolder color, added a cute denim jacket, and swapped the sandals for a flat pair.

Dress | Shoes

For a dressier Easter look, this baby pink midi dress is perfect. It’s light and flowy, and has a beautiful off-the-shoulder sleeve detail. I added these Madden Girl sandals for extra sparkle.

Top| Jeans | Shoes

Here’s another casual outfit if you’re keeping it low-key tomorrow. This light colored top is great for Easter, and the black jeans are super comfy.

Do you already have your outfit picked out for tomorrow, or are you going to figure it out then?

I will probably choose one of the above to wear tomorrow, depending on my mood.

I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend, and enjoy the holidays if you celebrate! ❤ 🙂

Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

Tomorrow it will officially be February, my second favorite month of the year! I love the first two weeks of this month because everything is decked out in red, pink, and hearts.

Valentine’s Day is such a sweet holiday, and the perfect time to show the people you love how special they are to you. It’s also the perfect opportunity to wear romantic, dreamy outfits.

Today I’m sharing a bunch of outfits I put together for some pretty Valentine’s Day inspiration. Click the links below each picture to shop the looks, and don’t forget to let me know what you think in the comments below!

Top | Skirt | Shoes

Burgundy is one of my favorite colors to wear in the winter. This tee and pleated black skirt are a sweet, simple outfit for Valentine’s Day.

Add some heels and a cute wristlet to make it look even more classy.

Sweater (similar) | Skirt (similar) | Shoes | Purse

This NY&C sweater is incredibly soft and cozy, perfect for going out on a cold night! The light pink pairs perfectly with a burgundy skirt and great heeled booties.

You can also swap out the booties for a pair over-the-knee boots to help keep your legs warm.

Sweater | Pants | Wedges

This red sweater is so big and warm, it feels like you’re wearing a blanket! But still hangs really nicely, which I didn’t expect before trying it on.. It’s on the longer side, so it goes perfectly with some tight-fitting black pants.

I’ve paired this outfit with black wedges and a fedora for added flair.

Blouse | Flats | Bag

This outfit is more on the dressy side, and goes nicely with a black or brown coat. This Kate Spade bag is one of my favorites for both cold and warm weather, and I love that red, white, and pink are all used in this outfit.

Sweater | Jeans | Booties | Bag

I just bought a bunch of sweaters from Venus and love them all! I got so many compliments on this white one the first time I wore it. It’s great for dressing up a pair of jeans, but also goes really well with slacks or a skirt.

I’ve added a red bag and soft pink booties here to get that red, white, and pink combination again.

Blouse | Black Pants | Pink Jeans (similar) | Black Wedges

Polka dots always remind me of romance, which makes them perfect for February. I’m showing two outfit options for this top here.

The first is more dressy, with black pants and red heels. The second is a little more casual but still chic, with pink pants and black wedges.

Sweater | Blue Jeans | Red Jeans | Flats | Bag

This fuzzy sweater is basic but cute. I always wear it with blue jeans but it goes with pretty much any color, and these red jeans are perfect for V-Day. Simple black flats and a cute, girly purse tie it all together.

Are you doing anything romantic or fun this Valentine’s Day? Let me know your plans, and what you think of my outfit suggestions, in the comments below!

I’ll actually be going on a little weekend trip to Philly, so keep an eye out for an upcoming post about that.

Thanks again for reading and I hope to see you back here soon 🙂 ❤
